JazzMobile and the Central Park Conservancy hosted Summerfest 2017 – New York’s oldest continuous summer Jazz festival.

As music tastes in New York continue to evolve, JazzMobile Summerfest performances are attracting a wider and more diverse audience – all with the love for old fashioned Jazz.

The highlight of the Summerfest was a special appearance by the legendary Jazz icon, Jimmy Heath – who continues to inspire musical artists of all ages. The Grammy nominated and celebrated musician turns 91 this year.

Co-Founded in 1964 by Jazz master pianist Dr. Billy Taylor, JazzMobile holds the distinction of being the first arts and cultural organization created just for Jazz in the United States.

JazzMobile has had a profound influence on the culture of New York City, reaching over 4 million people living or visiting the five boroughs. With school workshops, lecture demonstrations and concerts, JazzMobile reaches across cultural barriers and aims to enhance the quality of life for New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds.
