April 2017 – He is “the man who shot the seventies!” As the chosen photographer and visual collaborator of luminary artists including David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Queen, Mick Rock has been responsible for a staggering number of rock music’s most iconic photos.

Much of the man’s most heralded work captured the gamut of New York’s music legends in their Big Apple environs, including Blondie, the Talking Heads, Lou Reed, and the Ramones, just to name a few.

Now the subject of a new documentary film on his work, SHOT! The Pysch-Spiritual Mantra of Rock, the British expatriate has resided in Manhattan since the 70’s. NYC VIBE talks with this local icon on his life’s work. The documentary is being released by Magnolia Pictures opening April 7, 2017 at the Metrograph in New York, as well as in Los Angeles.
