Katy Perry Serves Cherry Pie To Fans In Times Square

Superstar singer songwriter Katy Perry made a surprise appearance in Times Square on a hot Friday spring afternoon to serve fans, tourists, and lunching office-workers helpings of cherry pie to promote her new single “Bon Appetit” which was released earlier in the day.

Ms. Perry, who proclaimed her love for New York City from a cherry pie van as her new song blared from a thundering sound-system situated on the northern triangle of Times Square known as Duffy Square, was almost unrecognizable to longtime fans with her new close-cropped pixie blonde hairstyle.

Perry, who has the most Twitter followers in the world with 97 million, launched a campaign earlier in the week asking her fans to “bake me a pie and you may get a surprise.”

“Bon Appetit” also features Atlanta rap trio Migos, and is the second single from Perry’s upcoming follow-up to her 2013 album Prism.

Katy Perry will be busy in New York City as she is hosting the Met Gala on May 1, and she is slated to perform on the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 20.
