August 2016 – New York City: At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, it’s not about winning…it’s not about losing…it’s about looking the most fabulous on the red carpet and stirring chatter, gossip, and tweets among the millions of fans, experts, stylists, and fashion forecasters around the globe!

For the first time ever, the world’s most popular annual pop music television awards show took place at the world’s most famous arena – Madison Square Garden, in the heart of the Big Apple.

Contemporary music stars and entertainment legends within shouting distance of the Great White Way commandeered the “great red way” – including Rihanna, who accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award; Britney Spears – who returned to the VMA stage after a ten year absence; and Ariana Grande, who made a grand, triumphant return to the hallowed awards extravaganza.

In contrast to most mainstream awards presentations, the MTV Video Music Awards are fashionably unique; forsaking traditional formal wear for the most provocative, exceptional designs – and 2016 was no exception!

The incomparable Beyoncé stunned attendees in an ethereal Francesco Scognamiglio sheer long-sleeve crystal-embellished gown with feathers! Reality television superstar Kim Kardashian arrived in a Vintage John Galliano sheer long-sleeve dress with plunging neckline and drawstring complemented with scandalous Manolo Blahnik lace-up sandals.

Renowned rapper, singer, songwriter Nicki Minaj wore a Bao Tranchi Cobalt sheer long-sleeve gown. And Britney Spears’ wore a Julien MacDonald Black One-Shoulder Asymmetric Dress speaking volumes!

Among the additional stars strutting the MTV VMA red carpet included Meek Hill, Kanye West, Nick Jonas, Future, Lukas Graham, DNCE, Tinashe, Michael Phelps, members of the 2016 Women’s Olympic Gymnastic team, Fifth Harmony, Amber Rose, DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper, Rita Ora, Puff Daddy, and Flo Rida.
