21 year Old Ukrainian Musical Phenomenon Illia Ovcharenko Makes His Carnegie Hall Debut

Carnegie Hall in New York City, whose mission is to present extraordinary music and musicians bringing the transformative power of music to the widest possible audience, to provide visionary education programs, and to foster the future of music through the cultivation of new works, artists, and audiences.

And on this special night, with Bader Content Studios on hand, the 21 year old Ukrainian Pianist Illia Ovcharenko was preparing for what would be a dream of a lifetime – to perform at Carnegie Hall.

Illia was named the winner of the tenth New York International Piano Competition, under the auspices of the Stecher & Horowitz Foundation – receiving the Joyce B. Cowin Prize given to the competition’s First Prize solo performer – The honor had a grand prize of $20,000 and concert appearances.

Illia’s family lives in Ukraine, just over 100 miles from the Russian border – He studies with Arie Vardi at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel.

At age 9, he won his first competition, and at age 10 gave a solo recital in the Philharmonic Center of Ukraine. Since 2010, he has won more than 20 piano competitions in Israel and throughout Europe, including being named the first prize and special prize winner at the International Piano Competition “Kyiv” in 2018.

For now, Illia performs, wins awards, learning and wanting to do more – for his music career and for his country that greatly appreciates what he stands for and those watching around the world.
