October 2017 – Every year, Derek Jeter leads an All-Star roster of celebrities and athletes to raise funds for his Turn 2 Foundation which helps improve the lives of young people.
Turn 2 has raised millions of dollars to support academic achievement, healthy lifestyles and leadership development for kids in New York City, Tampa and Derek’s home state of Michigan.
The Turn 2 Foundation Dinner brought this city’s most celebrated individuals together for a common cause – to support Derek and the kids!
The Jeter’s Leaders Initiative is a four year pursuit of excellence program for high school students in New York City and Western Michigan. Jeter’s Leaders were honored for their academic performance and for helping people in their respective communities.
Derek and The Player’s Tribune – An online media outlet which the former Yankee founded – Presented a discussion panel which featured a range of topics relevant to Turn 2’s core mission. Grammy Award winning Rhythm & Blues Group “Boyz II Men” turned in a memorable performance entertaining Derek’s supporters and honorees.
To help in the Turn 2 fundraising efforts – A live and silent auction was held featuring unique memorabilia.
