October 2017 – New York City opened its arms to the world at the 2017 Global Citizen Festival.
On the Great Lawn in Central park – More than 60,000 music lovers and humanitarians came together to take action on the global issues that affect us all.
The mission of the Global Citizen Festival is to end extreme poverty. The roster of artists who preformed at this year’s festival had something for every music fan.
Many of the participating artists have a history of activism and raising awareness, which is reflected in their music. Among the supporters of Global Citizen Festival include many recognizable actors who are passionate about raising awareness and taking action.
Artists including Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, Alessia Cara, Green Day, The Killers, Big Sean, Andra Day and The Chainsmokers kept the audience on their feet from day until night.
Over the past 6 years – Millions of Global Citizens have taken actions to help solve some of the worlds biggest challenges. To date, The actions of Global Citizens has resulted in Billions of Dollars in commitments that will improve the lives of over a Billion people by 2030.
Ending extreme poverty needs innovative ideas, good governance, and sustainable financing. At the 2017 Global Citizen Festival – New Yorkers were doing their part to empower people to pull themselves out of poverty!
